Understanding the Problem

Something is very wrong with the current debate on climate change, it seems that evens those presenting themselves as advocating for solutions to climate change and global warming on behalf of humanity and the world's species somehow have failed to properly assess the consequences and complexities at hand, arguing for solutions that will simply not solve the problem.

To argue that climate change is not already dangerous, as has been the global consensus until just recently (2 degree being the former point of "dangerous" climate change for example Greenpeace International's position at Bali ClimateConference December 2007), is analogous to arguing that jumping out of a plane without a parashoot is not dangerous till you hit the ground, technically quite true from one point of view, but at the same time removing our focus away from the critical point of decision that will ultimately lead to disastrous consequences.

In the following pages I will attempt to make a case that human induced climate change is already dangerous, as serious consequences are likely to occur from the emissions we have already released, and as a consequence of this we must rapidly reduce our atmospheric greenhouse gas concentrations. However this will just be a breif overview of the issue so I recomend you read one of the many books on subject of climate change impacts, below are three that I recommend.
